Boonie Hat Coffee Company is the first coffee roastery in the area to use a Commercial Fluid Bed coffee roaster. Most commercial coffee roasters utilize a drum roaster. Coffee beans are roasted by contact with a hot metal drum. This means that the outside of the coffee bean gets roasted quicker than the inside of the bean. This is why many coffees in your local grocery store smell and taste burned, not roasted.

Here's how Boonie Hat Coffee Company is different...what if coffee could be roasted on a bed of hot air, instead of contact with a hot metal surface? This would allow the coffee bean to roast evenly. We roast in small batches, affording us even greater control of the quality of our coffee. This is how Boonie Hat Coffee produces our uncommonly smooth offerings. Not burned, never bitter.
